Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

This policy explains how aian.app collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use the Service.

1. Data We Collect

  • Account information: your email address and account identifier. If you sign in with Google, we receive your display name, email, and profile photo from your Google account. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; we never store your password.
  • Content you create: flashcard sets, terms, definitions, notes, quizzes, and feedback you submit.
  • Learning data: study progress, test results, study streaks, and AI feature usage counts.
  • Technical data: login session cookies, settings stored in your browser (localStorage), and usage statistics such as pages viewed, device type, browser, and approximate location.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide, maintain, and sync your account, flashcard sets, and learning progress.
  • To process requests to generate flashcards or quizzes with AI.
  • To analyze usage and improve the Service.
  • To keep the system secure, detect abuse, and handle complaints, including copyright complaints.
  • To contact you about your account or important changes to the Service.

We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Publicly Displayed Data

When you set a flashcard set to Public, its content along with your display name and profile photo will be visible to everyone and may be indexed by search engines. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Private sets (the default) are only visible to you.

4. Third-Party Processors

We use the following service providers to operate aian.app. They only process data as needed to provide their services:

  • Google Firebase Authentication: sign-up, sign-in, and session management.
  • Supabase: database storing accounts, flashcard sets, and learning data.
  • Google Gemini API: text you enter into AI features is sent to Google to generate content.
  • Google Analytics: traffic statistics.
  • Vercel: website hosting.

These providers may store or process data outside your country. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

We may disclose data to competent authorities when required by law.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies to keep you signed in and localStorage to remember your settings such as language, theme, and study preferences. Google Analytics also uses cookies for statistics. You can delete or block cookies in your browser, but some features such as signing in may stop working.

6. Retention and Security

Data is kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete a flashcard set or request account deletion, the related data is removed from our systems unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

We apply reasonable security measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and database access controls. However, no system is completely secure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Know about, access, and correct your personal data.
  • Delete any flashcard set at any time and request deletion of your entire account.
  • Withdraw your consent to data processing. Some features may then no longer be available to you.
  • Complain about how your personal data is processed.

To exercise these rights, please contact us on Threads at @nam.nguoi.sat.

8. Children

Children can study on aian.app without an account. Creating an account for a user under 16 requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Parents or guardians may request to access, correct, or delete their child's data at any time by contacting us on Threads at @nam.nguoi.sat.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The latest update date is shown at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the changes.
